Seeking
I attended a Christian school during my high school years, the
school belonged to Baptist denomination and we attended chapel service every Wednesday.
Chapel service used to run from about eleven o’clock to lunch hours. I, like other students always longed for chapel
service because of the singing. There used to be one favorite hymn song that all
students longed to sing along. It was called Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God.
The reason as to why this song was so dear to the students was because of the
different harmonies displayed as we sung that song. It was interesting to note
that automatically the men would lead sing in their deep, hoarse voice as the
ladies would echo in their sweet soprano and alto voices. This formed a very
sweet melody, it was heavenly.
Seek ye first the
kingdom of God
And His
righteousness;
And all these things
shall be added unto you.
Hallelu, Hallelujah!
Ask, and it shall be
given unto you;
Seek, and you shall
find.
Knock, and it shall
be opened unto you.
Hallelu, Hallelujah!
Man shall not live by
bread alone,
But by every word
That proceeds out
from the mouth of God.
Hallelu, Hallelujah!
In the book of Mathew chapter six and verse thirty three Jesus
mentions that “seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his
righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” As human
beings in our day to day lives what do we seek, who do we seek, where do we
seek, how do we seek and the list of questions is endless. Simplicity in life
is when we learn to follow instructions given by the author and finisher of
life.
