What are you grateful for today?


"Every new day your glory unfolds feeling my eyes with your treasures untold" those are words contained in the lyrics of the song titled "My Greatest Love Is You" by Hillsong United.

Indeed my greatest love today is you GOD, for giving me yet another day, another opportunity and another chance to make a difference in my life and in the world I live.

When one masters the art of being grateful, they finally view the world from a different lens. One develops a more positive attitude toward life. Nothing is taken for granted anymore and one appreciates the little things in life that once seemed meaningless. Gratitude nourishes the heart the same way food nourishes the body. Gratitude, gives one a healthy look into life.

Today I am thankful for the air that I breath, for my eyes that can see beautiful colors, for my ears that can hear the sound of the activities happening around me, for my hands that are typing this message and for every other thing that you have given me today. I am truly grateful!

Today morning as I was leaving the house for work, my daughter, who had stayed back home from school due to illness, chose to see me off.   Suddenly, we noticed that Sam her pet dog had sneaked out of the house and had ran out of the main gate to the next door neighbor’s house. Toot Your Own Horn

I came across an article that stated that many of us based on our backgrounds have been raised to believe that blowing ones trumpet is a wrong thing. We have been conditioned to only one side of the coin and as a result, growing up we have been forced to wear this garment of humility that works to our disadvantage. We have been forced to believe that those who actually do blow their own trumpet are proud, bad or evil. Macmillan dictionary has defined blowing ones trumpet as “to emphasize your own achievements and successes to other people” I could define this in simple terms to mean self-promotion.   It is simply selling your own brand to the market out there. Traveling

I am one of those people who dread the thought of traveling because when I travel I feel like my way of doing things will be interrupted. For instance, when I wake up I always follow a systematic sequence that is specific, for either a weekday or weekend. Thus if I am to travel, I start to imagine how all this planned sequence will be interfered with and I get worked up. I literally get stressed out days before I travel and by the time the journey commences I am worn out emotionally. Given an opportunity, I always back out from traveling. St Augustin once said that the world is a book and that those who do not travel read only a page. I am a culprit of that quote. I would like to imagine that I have read very few pages because I can count the number of places that I have traveled too.
